To overcome the natural susceptibility of magnesium alloys (AZ91D / AZ31B) to environmental oxidation, this component undergoes an advanced dual-layer surface treatment process:
  • Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) Base layer: Creates a dense, ceramic oxide layer deep within the substrate, providing superior corrosion resistance, dielectric breakdown strength, and wear durability.
  • Cerakote Ceramic Finish Topcoat: A thin-film thermal ceramic coating applied over the PEO layer to deliver a non-reflective matte aesthetic, enhanced chemical protection, and UV resistance without compromising tight mechanical tolerances.
